Two kidnapped in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR, April 10: Two passengers of a wagon were kidnapped from Shikarpur-Kandhkot road near Nim Laro in the Khanpur area on Thursday.

A group of 12 armed rubbers intercepted a Shikarpur-bound wagon coming from Kandhkot, deprived the passengers of cash and valuables and kidnapped two of them.

On receiving information, the Khanpur police rushed to spot and followed the kidnappers. The kidnappers ran away with kidnap victims after an encounter with the police, the police said.

JIRGA: A jirga (tribal court) to bring an end to the Mahar-Jatoi feud, which was scheduled for April 11-12, has been postponed for one day. Now the jirga will be held on April 12-13 at Sukkur circuit house.

Former provincial minister Manzoor Panhwar will be Ameen from both sides and Sardar Khadim Hussain Jatoi and Sardar Ali Gohar Mahar have been nominated as Musheers.

Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Ghous Bux Mahar and National People’s Party leader Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi will also participate in the jirga.
