Lahore police claim more arrests

LAHORE, April 10: City police claimed to have arrested 102 more outlaws, also recovering illicit arms from them on the fifth day of an ongoing drive against criminals.

Police said special teams raided a number of hideouts of the outlaws in the city during the night between April 9 and 10, arresting 102 more felons, including 29 proclaimed offenders, 39 court absconders and 34 target offenders.

The police also registered 30 cases of illicit arms and recovered 26 pistols, one rifle and 124 bullets from outlaws.

GANGS BUSTED: CIA Cantt and Iqbal Town division police claimed to have busted two gangs involved in a number of incidents of murder, dacoity, robbery, burglary and street crimes, arresting their nine members.

The police also seized looted property worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, besides illegal weapons from their possession.

The accused confessed to their involvement in 10 such incidents during preliminary interrogation, the police claimed.

Two special teams were formed under the supervision of CIA SP Chaudhry Masood Aziz, comprising CIA Cantt in charge and Mughalpura CIA DSP.

The first team traced Imran alias Mani gang and arrested its five members from China Park Scheme who would allegedly snatch valuables at gunpoint from passers-by. — APP
