Plea to reinstate sacked teachers

QUETTA, April 10: Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association president Prof Arbab Afridi demanded on Thursday that the government should reinstate sacked teachers of the Balochistan University and repeal the Balochistan University Model Ordinance.

He warned that the association would launch agitation if the government did not meet the demand in seven days.

Addressing a press conference, he said that on his persuasion two sacked teachers and office-bearers of the Academic Staff Association called off a hunger strike from April 11 to give some time to the new government.Prof Afridi called upon the government to reinstate Prof Agha Mohammad Nasir and ex-principal of Law College Zakir Hussain Jadoon and withdraw show-cause notices issued to ASA president Kaleemullah Barach and general secretary Manzoor Baloch.
