KARACHI, April 10: The civil judge and judical magistrate, South, Ashraf Hussain Khawaja, on Thursday remanded Dr Agha Javed Pathan in police custody till April 19.

The police booked Dr Pathan on April 9 on charges of manhandling the former Sindh chief minister, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, and of possessing illegal weapons, hashish and a stolen motorcycle.

Three cases (FIR Nos 199/08, 200/08 and 201/08) were registered against him under Sections 337-A, 392 of the Pakistan Penal Code, 13-D of Arms Ordinance and Section 6/9-A of Control of Narcotic Substance Act at the Preedy police station.
