Raisani sworn in as chief minister

QUETTA, April 9: Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Balochistan here on Wednesday.

Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi administrated the oath.

Nawab Raisani later took a vote of confidence from a special session of the provincial assembly. He got 57 votes.

Dr Fozia Marri of the ruling coalition arrived in the house after the voting while Sardarzada Bakhtiar Khan Domki and Maulana Abdul Bari Agha were absent.

Speaker Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, caretaker chief minister Sardar Mohammad Saleh Bhootani, former ministers, MNAs, MPAs, parliamentary leaders of various parties, Chief Secretary K.B. Rind, provincial PPP chief Nawabzada Lashkri Raisani and tribal elders attended the oath-taking ceremony.
