All set for lawyers’ rally today

LAHORE, April 9: Lawyers are set to hold protest rallies, boycott court proceedings and set up hunger strike camps here on Thursday for the restoration of deposed judges.

Bar leaders said the main rally would be taken out with traditional enthusiasm and have heavy presence of lawyers, workers of political parties and civil society activists.

Workers of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf, Khaksar Tehrik, Yellow Cab Association, Women’s Action Forum and Concerned Citizens of Pakistan are expected to participate in the rally.

The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) will hold general house meetings before taking out protest rallies. LBA will take out its rally from Aiwan-e-Adl and LHCBA from the Lahore High Court. The LHCBA rally will join the LBA rally at GPO Chowk. The joint rally will march towards the Punjab Assembly.
