Published April 10, 2008

VEHARI, April 9: The only surgeon at the DHQ Hospital, Dr Naveed Dogar, resigned from service here on Wednesday, owing to personal reasons.

Mr Dogar is the second doctor who has resigned from service during a couple of days.

Earlier, Dr Sulman had resigned. MS Dr Nasir Dilshad confirmed the resignation of Dogar. He said Dr Iqbal Huma, former DHQ Hospital surgeon, was appointed on a temporary basis.

A few days back, hospital doctors had threatened to resign if their demands were not accepted. They were demanding service protection, appointment of the required number of doctors and paramedical staff and changes in some departmental procedures. The MS said Dogar resigned for personal reasons. — Correspondent
