SHIKARPUR, April 9: Lawyers condemning the manhandling of former chief minister Sindh Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and former federal minister Dr Sher Afghan Niazi said the two incidents are a pre-planned conspiracy to derail democratic process and sabotage lawyers’ movement for restoration of judiciary.

President District Bar Association Mazhar Ali Siddiqui, member Sindh Bar Council Agha Yasin Pathan, and others blamed opposition behind these incidents. Talking to Dawn, they said the newly elected government should continue its process of democratic stability while lawyers their struggle for restoration of judiciary.

They demanded action against those trying to sabotage peace.

KILLED: A 20-year old man has been killed by a group of armed men near Toll Plaza on Shikarpur-Khanpur Road in the jurisdiction of New Foujdari police station, on Wednesday.

The killing of the young man Hazar Khan Jatoi had been linked to ongoing dispute between Mahars and Jatois.

More than 25 persons belonging to Jatoi and Mahar tribes had been killed in tribal clashes during last three months while police failed to arrest accused involved in clashes.

No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
