ISLAMABAD, April 8: The United Kingdom has expressed confidence in Pakistan’s counter-terrorism strategy and sought enhanced cooperation between the two countries on the issue.

“I found very strong commitment amongst the new ministers to continue with what works,” British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said before her departure at the conclusion of her two-day visit.

She said Britain would be interested in deepening its counter-terrorism relations with Pakistan. “With the relations that we are going to build we can up our activity even further.”

During the talks she held here, it was agreed to enhance exchange of experience and intelligence, a foreign ministry source said.
