Badar Express to gather speed

Published April 7, 2008

TOBA TEK SINGH, April 6: The newly-appointed railway minister has ordered abolishing all ‘politically-influenced’ stops of Badar Express by the previous government, reveal sources.

The sources said Federal Railways Minister Sardar Mahtab Abbasi ordered the officials that the Shorkot-to-Lahore via Toba and Faisalabad train must arrive its destination in time in the future.

Two former ministers -- Mian Shamim Haider and Sheikh Rashid Ahmad – awarded several stops of the train from Sheikhupra, Farooqabad, Bhalikay, Safdarabad, Sangla Hill, Sahianwala and Chak Jhumra which turned it into a passenger train. — Correspondent
