National Athletics from 19th

ISLAMABAD, April 5: The 40th National Athletics Championships for men and women will be held at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore from April 19 to 21, the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) has announced.

The AFP has issued general instructions in this regard to all its affiliated units.

Teams eligible to participate in the championships, to be held under the aegis of the Punjab Athletics Association, are Pakistan Army, PAF, Navy, Wapda, Railways, Police, Higher Education Commission, Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, Balochistan, Islamabad, POF Wah and Pakistan Steel.

Males will be participating in Twenty-one events — 100 metres, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 5000, 10000, 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles, 3000 SC, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot-put, discus throw, hammer throw, javelin throw and decathlon.

Whereas females will be featuring in twenty events — 100metres, 200, 400, 800, 1500, 5000, 10000, 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles, heptathlon, 4x100m Relay, 4x400m relay, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, hammer throw and javelin throw.—Agencies
