LAHORE, April 5: PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif says coalition parties’ leadership will decide about the abolition of the local government system and revival of the old system in the province.

He said the Nawaz League had reservations about MQM’s joining the federal cabinet and demanded a transparent inquiry into the May 12 Karachi killings to know who was responsible for the massacre.

He also stressed the need for the restoration of deposed judges in accordance with the Murree Declaration.

The PML-N leader said an IT university for girls would be set up in the Chief Minister’s House for which the caretaker government had been asked to form a committee so that the new government could ensure early implementation of the plan.

Shahbaz said easy access to education would be ensured in Punjab besides the introduction of a uniform curricula in public and private educational institutions. The new government, he said, would also take effective measures to rectify the law and order situation in the province.

The PML-N president also denounced Pervaiz Elahi’s statement about a forward bloc in Nawaz League, and said: “We will ensure transparency in the accountability process.”
