GUJRANWALA, April 5: The district police claimed on Saturday having arrested two of the gangsters involved in the murders of all male members of a family. They had now been pressuring the ill-fated family to help save Aqeel alias Kaka Daura, who has been lodged in the central jail.

The law enforcers also confiscated the properties of four other culprits involved in the murders.

Khiali Shahpur Town SP Ali Mohsin told Dawn that two outlaws, Badar (brother of Kaka Daura) and Muhammad Iqbal (Kaka’s maternal uncle) had been apprehended while the properties of Iftikhar, Zubair, Matiullah and Azam had been confiscated.

He said the police had contacted Interpol (international police) for the arrest of Matiullah and Azam who had fled to foreign countries.

Sub-inspector Mian Muneer, the investigation officer, told Dawn that the police had taken judicial remand of the two and continued raids for the arrest of the others who had gone into hiding.

He said the police had also registered a case against Zubair for giving refuge to one of the gangsters.
