Bomb hoax delays PIA flight

MULTAN, April 4: A Lahore-bound PIA flight (Boeing PK-330) was delayed for two hours because of a bomb hoax at Multan airport on Friday.

The flight, which arrived at Multan airport from Karachi six hours behind its schedule, took another two hours to be cleared from the bomb disposal squad.

The flight landed at the airport at 8:25pm against its schedule 2:25pm. Its next destination was Lahore and than Islamabad. Soon the passengers were aboard, an anonymous caller told the flight inquiry about the presence of a bomb at the plane. It alerted the officials who got off the passengers and called the bomb disposal squad and other rescue agencies.

The squad cleared the flight after two hours when found no bomb or explosives at the plane. The flight took off at 11pm.
