LAHORE, April 4: Senior Superintendent of Police (operations) Dr Tariq Ahmad Khokhar has directed the officials to strict action against the people violating ban on kite-related trade and kite flying, according to a handout.

He said this at a meeting of the Cantonment division here on Friday.

There was a ban on kite flying and those involved in its trade should also be brought to book, the SSP said, and also directed his subordinates to arrest the people involved in aerial firing.

He reprimanded the station house officers of the Factory Area, Burki and Mustafabad for poor performance and warned them that they would be shown the door if they did not improve.

He asked the Burki SHO and investigation in charge to arrest the robbers involved in a

dacoity in their area in a week otherwise they would be suspended from service besides departmental action would also be initiated against them.

The SSP also directed all SPOs and SHOs to launch a crack down on proclaimed offenders and submit a report to him in a week.

He said the owners of public call offices should be made bound to maintain record.
