KARACHI, April 3: The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) and Karachi Port Trust (KPT) won their respective matches in the 16th Hinopak Trophy-KCCA Inter-departmental Cricket League here on Wednesday.

In the first match, the KESC thrashed Income Tax by eight wickets at the KCCA Stadium, thanks to fine half-centuries by Sharjeel Ashraf and Zeeshan Jamil besides Abdul Rehman’s four-wicket haul.

Batting first, Income Tax crashed to 173 all out in 38.5 overs. Left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman grabbed four wickets for 22 and off-spinner Mansoor Khan got three for 52.

The KESC, in reply, raced to victory for the loss of three wickets in 29.3 overs. Sharjeel hit an unbeaten 67 with six fours and Zeeshan 56 with five fours.

In another match played at the TMC Ground, the KPT beat Sindh Police by 20 runs.
