Truckers Resent bridge closure

Published April 4, 2008

Muzaffargarh, April 3: Goods transporters are bearing the loss of millions rupees due to the closure of Muzaffargarh Canal bridge by the National Highways Authority.

The bridge is located between Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Southern Punjab Goods and Transporters Association representatives told a news conference that the NHA was bound to provide an alternative way within two to five kilometers radius but the truckers were asked to use the Taunsa Barrage route which meant an additional distance of 125 km.
