RAWALPINDI, April 3: Youth thronged the fourth Dawn Education Expo on its opening day at a local hotel here on Thursday.

Some 60 international and national universities and institutions have set their stalls to provide necessary information about education and to facilitate prospective student in getting admissions.

Young students swamped the venue despite it being a working day, and took keen interest in the available information.

Most of the inquiries were made to the representatives of British, American and Australian universities by the visitors who seemed satisfied after the getting the needed details.

The stallholders highlighted the programmes which the institutions were offering, however, majority of the visitors took great interest in management courses offered by both national and international universities.

National universities that took part in the exhibition included the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS); University of Management and Technology UMT, Lahore; Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP); and the National University of Science and Technology (NUST).

Many renowned universities and institutes of Britain, the United States of America, and Australia also participated in the exhibition.

The British Council and the British High Commission in Islamabad also had their pavilions to provide information to the visitors about obtaining different categories of visas.

The visitors expressed satisfaction at the visa information facility, as many said that obtaining a visa had been the main area of concern for the hopeful students.

The exhibition remained open from 11am to 7pm, the same timings will also be followed on Friday, the last day.
