HYDERABAD, April 3: The director of USAID programme, Tariq Sohail, has said that Tando Allahyar district will be included in USAID programme for development and promotion of health and education centres and other facilities.

He said this during a meeting with Tando Allahyar DCO Dr Farooq Leghari in his office on Wednesday.

Mr Sohail said a comprehensive programme had been chalked out to provide health, education and welfare facilities to people of backward areas including Tando Allahyar district.

He said disposal of administrative matters and reactivation of different organisations were also included in the programme and which would greatly benefit local administrations.

DCO Tando Allahyar briefed the USAID officials about the problems in their district and assured of full cooperation of the district government in the implementation of the programme.

The EDO finance and the EDO health also briefed the programme officials. The officials of USAID programme and district government were present.

VC LEAVES FOR JEDDAH: The vice-chancellor, University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui here on Thursday left for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to participate in 251st meeting of board of executive directors of Islamic Development Bank Jeddah from April 4 to 8. Professor Dr Rafiq Ahmed Shaikh, pro-vice chancellor of the university, will look after the responsibilities during the absence of the VC.
