KARACHI, April 3: Two container ships were berthed at the Qasim International Container Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers, furnace oil and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Qatari Ibn Al-Fujaa, ACX Jasmine, Tiran Island, Pontonikis, Ocean Morning, Bunga Melati-IV, Jawaharlal Nehru and Kaghan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, palm oil, crude oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 67,461 tons comprising 50,251 tons of import and 17,210 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Jawaharlal Nehru, Qatari Ibn Al-Fujaa and ACX Jasmine sailed out while Bunga Melati-IV was due to leave the port.
