LAHORE, April 2: Nasir Ismail has been appointed head coach of the national Under-14 football team, which is to take part in the AFC U-14 Festival in Iran next month.

The appointment was made by Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) president Faisal Saleh Hayat, who also visited the U-14 training camp.

Shahzad Anwar from Sargodha will be the coach while the former international goalkeeper Muhammad Aslam of PIA was picked the goalkeeping coach. Former FIFA referee Arif Siddiqui, last year’s U-13 manager is the camp commandant.

Pakistan is one of the nine participants featuring in the AFC U-14 Festival (South Asia region) to be held in Iran from May 10-23 with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and hosts Iran as the other competing nations.
