TAXILA, April 1: Three members of a family, including two women, were killed and another person was critically injured when a jeep fell into a ditch along the Taxila-Khanpur road on Tuesday, police said.

The family, settled in Taxila, was on its way to the town of Abbottabad when the accident occurred near Meesra area.

As a result, Aurangzeb (50), his daughter Nadia (20) and daughter-in-law Yasmeen (26) died on the spot, while the driver Sajid suffered serious injuries.

Passers-by rescued the injured driver and pulled out the bodies from the wreckage, and shifted them to a local hospital.

Police have registered a case and investigating the cause of the fatal accident.
