Couple, son die in road accident

SHEIKHUPURA, April 1: A couple along with their minor son died in a road accident on Motorway near Khanqa Dogran village on Tuesday.

The family was on its way to Lahore from Faisalabad by a car. As they reached near Khanqa Dogran village, the driver lost control over the car which rammed into a poll.

As a result, Afran, Ghazala Bibi and their son Zia were critically injured. They were rushed to the Lahore General Hospital where they died.

In another accident, one Bashir Ahmed died when a speedy tractor-trolley collided with a bus coming from opposite direction on Gujranwala road near Baigpur.

INJURED: A youth was shot injured by two unidentified men in a dacoity incident occurred on railway road on Tuesday.

Mohammad Nadeem (24) was returning from an MCB branch after drawing Rs0.2 million when the armed outlaws took him hostage on Railway Road and demanded cash.

As Nadeem tried to resist them, the outlaws opened fire, injuring him critically. They fled the scene after snatching cash from him.

B-division police are investigating the matter.
