LAHORE, March 31: All six goals by Taimur Mawaz Khan, including the winner in the extra fifth chukker, stole the limelight as Ittefaq beat Hira Valves 6-5 in the Low-goal Polo Cup here on Monday.

Hira Valves led the first half 2-1 as Ameen and Jawad Jamil Malik scored one goal each.

Taimur opened his account scoring a field goal on solo efforts.

The second chukker saw the winners came ahead 3-2 as Taimur pumped in back-to-back goals.

In the third chukker, both the sides scored one each. First Iftikhar Ali Khan hit for the losing side while Taimur scored his fourth.

Despite Taimur’s heroic performance, Hira Valves managed to level the score 5-5 before end of the fourth chukker, taking the match to the extra fifth chukker. Ali Malik and Moin Yaqoob scored for the losing team while Taimur fired his fifth.

In the extra chukker, Taimur again came to rescue his side scoring his sixth goal, converting a spot penalty near the goal post to seal the fate of the match.

In another match, Guard Rice defeated Technimen 9 - 2 ½. Taimur Ali Malik (5), Faisal Shahzad (3) were Syed Mohammad Raza (1) were the scorers for the winners. Bilal Haider Agha and Sameer Habib Oberoi hit one goal each for Technimen which had half-goal handicap.
