LAHORE, March 31: Retail prices of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) are expected to be reduced by another Rs7 per kg by Wednesday as a result of Rs6,680.25 cut in production prices by the Jamshoro Joint Ventures Limited (JJVL) on Monday.
LPG Distributors Association chairman Irfan Khokhar said that the LPG retail price would be reduced from Rs52 to Rs45 per kg as the JJVL had decreased the price from Rs45,878 to Rs39,197.75 per metric ton.
He said the price of 11.8 kg domestic cylinder would reduce by Rs79 (from Rs540 to Rs461) and 45.4 kg commercial cylinder by Rs314.
The LPG prices could be reduced to Rs40 per kg if the government allowed its duty-free import besides exempting the commodity from taxes, he said.
