BATKHELA, March 31: Unknown gunmen barged into a house at Akhtar Ghundai near Batkhela in the wee hours of Monday and shot dead four inmates. The deceased included 22-year-old Hussain Shah, his mother Fahmeda (55), sister Arfania (14) and brother Muqadar.

The accused broke into the house at 2.00 am on Monday and opened indiscriminate fire when the inmates were asleep. As a result all the family members were killed instantly. Relatives of the deceased told Dawn that the unfortunate family had no enmity with anybody so no FIR was lodged against any one.

However, the Malakand Levies chief Subedar Major Mukaram Khan and post commander, Taimur Khan said the culprits would soon be brought to justice and exemplary punishment would be awarded to them.

They said the incident might be a family feud and the investigation process would be extended. —Correspondent
