LAHORE, March 28: Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF) will be sending a six-member squad (four players and two officials) to the 39th Asian weightlifting championships, a qualifying event for the Beijing Olympics, to be held at Kanazawa City, Japan, from April 23 to May 2.

The selected players namely Umer Rasool Lone, Usman Amjad Rathore, Hassan Aslam and Rizwanullah Khan Lodhi, have the distinction of bagging the first position in their respective bodyweight classes in the recently concluded 55th National weightlifting championship that was held in Lahore on March 20 and 21.

Reda Abdel Rehman Abdel Rehman El Botatty is the team’s coach with Anjum Asif as the manager. The team departs on April 22.
