LAHORE, March 28: National champion Raheela Bano (Wapda) maintained supremacy over her rivals by winning both the gold medals at stake here on Friday, the second day of the 6th National women’s cycling championship.

Raheela, who is defending her national championship title for the sixth consecutive time, also bagged the solitary gold medal on the first day of the championship.

She has now emerged as the victor in all the three categories that she participated in, in the competition — the 30km road race (44 mins 09.49 secs), the 3km individual pursuit final (35.66 secs) and the 500metre time trial race (41.40 seconds).

Raheela’s department-mates Aysha Amin, Ghazala Abbas and Rashida Munir seized the second to fourth positions, respectively, in the 30km road race.

Two more finals, the 20km individual road time trial and the 3km team pursuit, will be decided on Saturday.

3km individul pursuit: Raheela Bano (Wapda); Ghazala Abbas (Wapda); Neelam Riaz (Punjab); Iram Rasheed (Railways); Rabia Ashiq (Punjab); Fouzia Fakir (Railways).
