FAISALABAD, March 25: The City District Government of Faisalabad plans identity cards for all of its employees and officers for security reasons keeping in view the threats of terror activities, Dawn learnt on Tuesday.

A four-member committee consisting of the district coordination officer, the superintendent of police (headquarters), the DSP (special branch) and the district officer civil defense has been made for the purpose.

Sources said all state-run departments were directed to issue cards to all of their employees, which they would have to wear in working hours. These cards will bear all their information like name, rank, office etc.

They said visitors would also be issued entrance passes to visit any government department. Visitors will be allowed to visit offices in the notified visiting hours, they said, adding all entrances would be properly barricaded.

An identification system will also be evolved and entire record of entrance and exit will be maintained in a special logbook featuring all detail of visitors. All town municipal administrations were asked to follow the instructions.
