IFSB Council meeting

ISLAMABAD, March 24: State Bank of Pakistan Governor Dr Shamshad Akhtar has left for Jeddah to preside over the 12th annual meeting of the Islamic Financial Services Board Council, beginning on March 26.

The IFSB Council comprises the central banks’ governors of 18 Islamic countries. The council is tasked to evolve a unitary standard for the Islamic financial system and stabilising it.

IFSB formulates guiding principles and prepares draft laws for banking, capital market and insurance sectors.—APP
