Tramcar Track stolen

KASUR, March 23: A 425-metre-long patch of the tramcar track was reportedly stolen away from Changa Manga woods on Saturday night.

Reports said the thieves stole away the track from block 1, stretching from field No 19 to 42.

Meanwhile, accused Azmat and Muhammad Ahmed allegedly stole away expensive timber worth millions of rupees from block 1 and 2, of the woods the same night.

Police have registered separate cases on the report of security guards Mushtaq Ahmed and Abdul Ghafar and were investigating.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead over a petty issue here on Sunday in the limits of A- Division police station.

Reports said Muhammad Sulman, working as a labourer at kasur, had a quarrel with Muhammad Saleem a few days back.

On Sunday, Saleem, along with two unidentified accomplices came to the workplace of Sulman and opened fire on him. Sulman died on the spot.

Police have registered a case on the report of victim’s father Abdul Khaliq.
