WASHINGTON: US President George Bush said on Thursday Israel had “met the timetable” it promised for withdrawing from the West Bank and now it was up to Palestinian Authority to act on its pledge to fight terrorism.
“Terrorist acts will forever and constantly undermine the capacity for peace,” he said. Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat “did condemn terror and we will now hold him to account”, Bush added, demanding that actions follow words.—AFP
