ISLAMABAD, March 19: Moazzam Ali Jatoi, one of the youngest legislators of the Pakistan People’s Party, is being tipped for an important portfolio in the future set-up.

Mr Jatoi, brother-in-law of PPP MNA Abdul Qayyum Jatoi, won the NA-179 seat from Muzaffargarh after defeating the PML-Q’s Makhdoomzada Syed Basit Ahmed Sultan by a margin of more than 19,000 votes.

Senior party leaders, however, said they were not aware of any special plan for Mr Jatoi but they did not rule out the possibility of the young MNA being assigned an important post.

They said party leaders had been discussing for several days the names of MNAs and Senators who could be inducted in the cabinet but a final decision had not been taken. They said the names of ministers would be finalised in a couple of days after reaching an understanding with other coalition partners over distribution of portfolios.
