PESHAWAR, April 18: The district Nazim-i-Aala, Azam Afridi, has asked the city police to take action against gambling in funfairs.

He  expressed these remarks during inauguration of  the computerisation of the FIR Management System at Police Lines here on Thursday. He claimed that the district government had not given permission of gambling in the funfairs, urging the city police to take action to save the future of the youth from decay.

Afridi stressed that it was the responsibility of the city police to provide protection to the life and property of the people and also redress the public grievances.

The Nazim said that lodging of an FIR was the first step to provide justice to the people as without the FIR registration law could not work.

He said even the performance of station house officers could assess through registration of the FIR at their respective police stations.

Hailing computerisation of the FIRs, he pledged that the district government would work side by side with the city police to provide justice to the people at their doorsteps.—Bureau Report
