LAHORE, March 16: The Pakistan People’s Party will finalise a candidate for prime minister in two or three days, says newly-elected MNA Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar.

Talking to Dawn on Sunday, he said the party was not in a hurry to name its candidate.

Mr Mukhtar said the PM’s election would be held after the speaker’s election on March 19. “We are yet to announce our nominee for this office, too.”

The PPP leader from Gujrat rejected reports that he was out of the race for the PM’s post. “I don’t think I am not in the run.”

He said media reports about front-runners were mere speculations.
