KARACHI, March 14: Ghulam Ali Pasha, a former provincial education secretary, has now been posted as Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, Sindh, by the caretaker government with immediate effect.

The incumbent has relieved Syed Ghulam Akbar Shah Bokhari who was demoted to his previous post of Director Sports and Youth Affairs, relieving Tariq Yaqoob Mirza of the additional charge, says a notification No SOI (SGA & CD) 3/105/85 (P-I) dated March 5, 2008.

Bokhari, who was appointed Director Sports and Youth Affairs sometime in 1994 in BPS 20 was promoted secretary on Oct 31, 2006, and continued to hold dual posts until recently when Tariq Mirza was given additional charge.

However, after assuming the charge of secretary, Bokhari lowered the post of Director Sports and Youth Affairs to BPS 19, minimising the chances of his reversal to the previous job. This post is to be again upgraded to BPS 20 by the Finance Department.

Meanwhile, it is learnt through reliable sources that Departmental Promotion Committee has not met at all during last so many years to carry out promotions in sports and youth affairs department, Sindh. Bokhari, however, was not available for comments.
