LAHORE, March 12: Two-goal Shaukat Malik along with a 2 1/2 handicap helped Pakistan Air Force (PAF) beat Askari Bank 6 1/2-5 here in the Pakistan Polo Cup on Wednesday.

The first chukker saw the winners acquire a 3 1/2-2 lead due to handicap advantage. The bankers made a stormy start through Pablo Bagnardi, who struck back to back goals but Shaukat fired his first, converting a 40-yard penalty to increase the lead.

The winners gained a 4 1/2-3 lead in the second chukker as Mashud scored a field goal after a long chase of the ball. Bagnardi, who scored four altogether, hit his third in the dying moments of the match.

The bankers bounced back in the third chukker, scoring two goals and conceding none to come ahead for the first time by 5- 41/2. Bagnardi scored his fourth while Sameer Habib Oberoi hit one.

PAF dominated the fourth chukker as Shaukat scored his second and Tauheed Ahmed chipped in with a goal to complete the tally.

Meanwhile five goals by Raja Samiullah and four by Shah Qublai Alam helped Bank of Punjab/Rangers crush Niralla Sweets 10-3.

Dhruvpal Godara scored all the three goals for the losing side.
