Danish stars for KW

KARACHI, March 12: Skipper Danish Ahmed’s half-century steered Karachi Whites to a four-wicket win against Karachi Greens in the All-Karachi Disabled Cricket Tournament at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground on Wednesday.

Danish hit eight boundaries during his match-winning knock. Karachi Greens’ all-rounder Khalid Mahmood produced a superb all-round show but failed to save his team from defeat. Khalid top-scored for his team (43) and claimed three wickets for 46.

Batting first, Karachi Greens posted 159-9 in 40 overs. Karachi Whites, in reply, reached the target in 34.1 overs for the loss of six wickets.

Karachi Blues will take on Karachi Whites in their next game on March 20 at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground.

Danish Ahmed (best batsman), Nadeem Arain (best bowler), Sakhi Jan (best fielder) and Khalid Mahmood (man-of-the-match) were given special awards of Rs500 each.
