ISLAMABAD, March 12: Chief of the Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has reaffirmed the army’s commitment to the Kashmir cause in line with the aspirations of the nation.

Addressing officers, junior commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers during his first visit to forward locations near the Line of Control after taking over as the COAS, he said there was a national consensus on the issue.

According to a press release, Gen Kayani said that a valiant and professionally sound military commander always led his men from the front, which proved decisive in challenging situations.

General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Mohammad Zahirul Islam accompanied the COAS during the visit.
