HYDERABAD, March 12: Five people were killed and two others were injured in two separate road accidents in Matiari and Hyderabad districts in past 24 hours.

Three people of a family were killed when their car collided head-on with a trailer at Pir Jhando area near New Saeedabad in Matiari district.

The injured were taken to New Saeedabad Hospital.

The deceased, Fayyaz Malik, 45; Lalu, son of Islamuddin Malik; Shareefan, wife of Islamuddin Malik, all residents of Sukkur, were going to Malir in Karachi to meet their relatives.

The driver of the trailer has escaped while the vehicle has been impounded.

Meanwhile, two people, Asif Khaskheli and Saqlain Talpur have lost their lives while Mohammad Ali got injured when their car collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction on Hyderabad-Tandojam road.

The injured was shifted to the Civil Hospital.

Truck driver escaped from the scene. Tandojam police have lodged a case.
