THATTA, March 12: People protesting against what they called criminal negligence of a doctor staged a sit-in and raised slogans outside the Emergency Ward of the Civil Hospital Makli, on Wednesday.

Parents of a five-year-old girl and others were enraged over callous attitude of the doctor and blamed him for the child’s death.

Nabi Bux Soomro, father of Khadija, told journalists that he came from the far-flung coastal town of Chuhur Jamali to the civil Hospital Makli with his daughter running high fever for a couple of days.

He said he had met the doctor who kept chatting with the staff. He posed himself as a friend of Dr Younus. He kept requesting the staff for help without any success resulting in the death of the child he said.

Secretary Information PPP Imtiaz Qureshi and SPSF District President Manzoor Sarki reached there and gave assurance about a thorough inquiry at which protesters dispersed.
