One killed, 8 injured in accidents

ATTOCK, March 11: A tractor driver was killed and 11 other people were injured in separate traffic accidents in the district, police said on Tuesday.

Adil Kamran, the tractor driver, was sitting near his vehicle on Thatta road on Monday evening when a speeding car knocked him down. As a result, he died on the spot.

In another incident, eight persons were injured when two coaches collided head-on near Nathain village on Pindigheb- Fatehjang road. The injured were taken to tehsil headquarters hospital Fatehjang.

GAMBLERS HELD: The Fatehjang police have arrested 14 persons on the charge of gambling.

They were identified as Abdul Razzak, Mohammad Ejaz, Shaukat Ali, Abdullah, Mohammad Nawaz, Khuda Buksh, Mohammad Akram, Mohammad Hanif, Mohammad Rafiq, Saleem, Azmat Khan, Pir Shahi, Abdul Rehman and Tariq Mehmood.
