LARKANA, March 10: Police and relatives of two drowned girls were clueless till Monday of their whereabouts.

Seven-year-old Uzma and four-year-old Sonia were reportedly thrown into Dadu Canal near Dokri by their mentally retarded cousin Saeed Soomro on Sunday.

Police arrested Saeed for investigations whereas efforts to fish out bodies of two girls went in vain. The father of girls Jannan Soomro told journalists that one of his daughters Sakina was supposed to get married to Saeed but could not because of his mental state. “We searched for them but could not get a clue of their location,” he said.

Saeed in the lockup kept changing his statement. On one hand he said that he had drowned the girls in Dadu Canal while on the other he said to have left them in ‘Bagri’ locality.

However, mystery prevailed over their disappearance.
