NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, March 8: The mother of 18-year old youth has accused the police of thrashing her son after hanging him naked from ceiling fan as a result he lost his consciousness.

Allah Bachai, mother of Arshad Kalhoro of Jiando Kalhoro village told reporters here on Saturday that police arrested her son as suspect in theft case. She said police threw her son outside their house in unconscious condition after depriving him of Rs4,000 and a mobile phone. She took her son to Sessions Court and on court’s order Arshad was admitted to the Civil Hospital Naushahro Feroze.

When contacted, Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Memon confirmed the boy was beaten up severely and said the boy was in semi- conscious condition. Ms Allah Bachai had demanded the higher authorities to take action against concerned police officials.

LAWYERS: Lawyers took out rallies and staged demonstrations in Naushahro Feroze, Moro, Kandiaro and Bhirya city on Saturday demanding restoration of deposed judges.

In Naushahro Feroze, lawyers led by Mumtaz Larik, Abdul Salam Luhrani and Shabbir Ahmed Khanzada took out a rally from Court Building up to the DCO Complex. They raised slogans against the government and carried black flags. They demanded immediate restoration of deposed Chief Justice and other judges.

SNATCHED: Three armed men snatched a new motorcycle, a mobile phone and Rs13,000 cash from Sajjad Ali Shah, a resident of Priyaloi, district Khairpur, when he was going back to his village from Tharushah.
