HYDERABAD, March 5: The Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) sleuths have arrested two suspects in human trafficking case of peasants and one of them has been remanded to FIA custody for three days by the concerned court of law here on Wednesday.

Ghulam Qadir alias Gul Mohammad alias Gullu Makrani was picked-up from a bus stop in Tando Adam. He was brought to Hyderabad. Earlier, the authorities had arrested Darya Khan alias Ameer Bux Sand, who was remanded to FIA custody for three days by a judicial magistrate and civil judge for interrogation in the case that was lodged on the complaint of Hussain Bux Solangi, a resident of Solangi Mohalla, Hala. Solangi had fled from Zarbad area of Iran a few months back.

Around 36 persons, including women and children, were being held in Iran by a landlord after they were smuggled to Iran by some people from Tando Adam, who were later identified as Saeed Makrani and Umer Makrani. Two of the smuggled people, Mohammad Saleh and Pir Bux, escaped from Iran and reached their homes safely.

They have been demanding recovery of their relatives and seeking attention of government functionaries in the matter. However, no recovery has so far been made.

POLICEMAN DIES: A police constable succumbed to his injuries in Civil Hospital Hyderabad on Wednesday after having been seriously injured in an attempted mobile phone robbery in Latifabad unit 10 within the jurisdiction of B-section police station three days ago.

He was serving in Madadgar centre of police. Syed Ashraf Ali Shah son of Syed Shabih Ahmed Shah 38, had received serious injuries caused by dagger in his abdomen when five unidentified outlaws intercepted him in unit-10 Latifabad on March 2 and attempted to deprive him of his cell phone.

He resisted the attempt and was attacked with a dagger. The robbery attempt failed and the accused fled. He was taken to Bhittai Hospital, Latifabad and then shifted to a private hospital.

He was brought to the Civil Hospital Hyderabad on Tuesday night. According to his family members, they had produced a letter to intensive care unit (ICU) for keeping the patient in the ICU. The hospital authorities had reportedly refused.

The grieved family members expressed their indignation after he was pronounced dead, raising hue and cry in the hospital.

After attempted robbery incident, a non-cognisable offence report was lodged with the B-section police that would now be converted into an FIR. The body was handed over to heirs. According to medico legal officer, Dr.Abdul Samad Solangi, there is only one wound on his abdomen and the deceased had been operated upon in surgical ward.
