LAHORE, March 3: Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab won one match each on the first day of the 16th National Baseball Championship at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex here on Monday.

Sindh defeated Islamabad by 10 runs to one as Jawad Ali, Sheraz and Asad Khan batted well for the winners.

But later, Sindh lost the second match to Balochistan 1-0. Sheeraz scored the solitary run of the match.

Punjab defeated Pakistan Navy 5-0. The seamen are the new entry in the arena of the game as the national federation had given them playing right from this year. Babar, Rizwan and Zubair batted well for Punjab.

Three more matches will be held on Tuesday.

Fixtures: NWFP vs Sindh; Punjab vs Balochistan; Punjab vs NWFP.
