KARACHI, March 3: Brothers Jalil Khan and Yasir Khan, the top two seeds, advanced into pre quarter-finals without conceding a point as the men’s singles first round of the second Sindh ranking tennis tournament commenced at the DHA Sunset Club on Monday.

Top seed Jalil handed a 6-0, 6-0 drubbing to Mehboob Khan while second seed yasir defeated Faisal Mehmood by the identical score.

Third seed Vinod Das also cruised into the next round by getting the better of Aslam Pervez 6-3, 6-1.

Junior international Zuhair Raza also took a step forward by handing a straight 6-1, 6-4 defeat to Usman. However, his elder brother Abbas made exit when he went down to Ahmed Iqbal 1-6, 1-6.

Both Zuhair and Abbas have recently undergone a strenuous training at the Ludhiana-based Harvest Tennis Academy.

Abdul Rehman and Robin Das overcame a stiff opposition from Fahad Anwer and Ali Kidwai respectively on way to making it to the next stage. Rehman emerged 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (1) winner against Anwer while Das defeated Kidwai 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 in three setters.
