LAYYAH, March 3: A 12-year-old boy who had been missing since Sunday was found dead in a trunk at his house on Monday.

Zohaib, son of Haji Muhammad Yaqoob, of Mohalla Sheikhanwala, went missing on Sunday. His family advertised through radio and local cable channels and made announcements in the mosques about the whereabouts of Zohaib.

On Monday, the relatives brought sniffer dogs to find the boy. The dog master asked for old cloths of the boy. As Zohaib’s mother opened a trunk of 2x4, she found the body of Zohaib packed in the trunk. Police handed over the body to the family after autopsy.

According to preliminary report, the boy was gagged and later packed into the trunk. Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq and Fayyaz Ahmed, uncles of Zohaib, told Dawn they were businessmen and had no enmity with anyone. Police were investigating.
