NEW DELHI, March 2: India has not invited Pakistan to witness military exercises being held in Rajasthan, despite extending invitation to about 100 foreign observers from foreign missions here.

The Indian army and air force will participate in “Operation Brazen Chariots” expected to begin from March 24 in the region around Pokhran in the Thar desert close to Pakistan border.

The Asian Age newspaper reported that Pakistan had not been invited by the Indian government to witness the war games.

Indian Defence Minister A.K. Antony recently said that Pakistan had been informed about the exercies in advance. When contacted, Indian army officials said that the Indian government had previously proposed several military CBMs to Pakistan.—APP
