BEIJING, Feb 29: Beijing notched up its best run of clean air days on record between January and February this year, state media reported on Friday, as the host city battles pollution woes ahead of the Olympics.

The 29-day run of so-called blue-sky days was recorded between Jan 21 and Feb 18, the official Xinhua news agency reported, citing the Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau.

For the month of February, Beijing also enjoyed the best air quality in eight years, the report said, with 26 out of the month’s 29 days achieving the clean air standard. —AFP
